How to use Color Wheel
Start with the named colors or add your own palette. Labels identify the chosen color independently of the segment fill.
- Add the color names available for your activity.
- Use Settings to match a segment's fill to its label if visual matching matters.
- Spin and read the selected color name.
- Remove the winner to work through the palette without repeating an entry.
Give it a try
Pick a sketch color or choose a color theme for a craft activity.
Example: a limited-palette drawing round
List the markers you actually have, such as Blue, Teal, Amber, Purple, Coral, and Green. Select a color for each round, or remove the winner so each marker is used once. Segment fills are decorative until you customize them: the written entry is the result. If you label an entry ‘Blue’ but leave its segment yellow, Blue still wins when that entry is selected.
Random color selection versus color theory
This is a named-color picker, not a complementary-color calculator, paint-mixing model, or hex-value generator. You may use a code such as #2463EB as an entry label, but the picker treats it as text. Use clear labels that everyone can read rather than identifying results by color alone. A custom palette is useful when choices are limited by the materials in front of you.
Useful to know
Is this a color theory tool?
It is a random color picker. It does not calculate complementary colors or accessibility contrast.
Each entry is equally likely. See how random selection works.
