How to use Team Generator

Add one person per line, choose a team count or people per team, and generate groups. Shuffle again for a new arrangement.

  1. Clear the samples and paste every participant once.
  2. Choose Teams for a fixed number of groups, or People per team for a maximum target size.
  3. Select Generate teams and check that everyone appears once.
  4. Review any practical constraints, then copy the teams or generate another arrangement.

Give it a try

Organize a class project, workshop breakout, or friendly game.

Example: fourteen people at four stations

Set Teams to 4 for fourteen participants. The result has two teams of four and two teams of three. Each person belongs to exactly one team. In People per team mode, a target of 4 also calculates four teams, then balances them to 4, 4, 3, and 3. It does not fill three groups of four and leave an isolated pair. A different shuffle changes membership while preserving the balanced sizes.

What ‘balanced’ means here

The generator balances headcount, not skill, experience, relationships, or accessibility requirements. It uses a random shuffle followed by even distribution. If two people must stay together, this tool does not enforce that constraint automatically; review and adjust your plan outside the generator. Local saving preserves the participant list and wheel settings, not a permanent archive of every generated grouping. Copy the displayed teams before leaving the page.
