How to use Random Name Picker

Enter names and press Pick a name. Remove each winner if you want to work through the list.

  1. Clear the examples and add one participant per line.
  2. Check accidental duplicates and distinguish identical names.
  3. Select Pick a name to display an immediate result.
  4. Remove the selected entry for a round without repeats, or leave it eligible for the next pick.

Give it a try

Select a meeting speaker, drawing entry, or next participant.

When an instant picker is the better fit

Use this picker for a meeting speaker, a quick practice question, or the next player when animation would interrupt the activity. Wheel of Names uses the same equal-entry selection approach but presents the result through a spin. This page keeps the result immediate. Choosing a faster display does not change the chance of selection or make one person's name more likely.

Check the list before drawing

Six distinct entries give each participant one chance out of six. If a person's name appears twice, that person has two chances. For repeat-free selection, remove the actual winning entry; removing one duplicated label still leaves the other eligible. The result history helps you review this session, but it cannot prove that every participant was entered correctly or that the list stayed unchanged.

Useful to know

How is this different from Wheel of Names?

This picker shows the selected name immediately, without the spinning animation.

Is the selection equal?

Each entry has the same chance. Duplicates are separate entries.

Each entry is equally likely. See how random selection works.
