SpinWheelTool Frequently Asked Questions

Learn how to spin, customize, save, and share your wheels.

Is the wheel random?

Yes. The application picks an entry using your browser’s random-number capability before animating the wheel to that result. Each entry has an equal chance.

Can I save my wheel?

Yes. Save a named wheel on this device. Your entries and settings are stored in your browser, so clearing browser data removes those saves.

Can I share a wheel with others?

Yes. Sharing creates a link to a copy of your entries and settings. Portable links contain the wheel data; configured server links store an expiring copy. Anyone with the link can see the entries.

Can I remove a winner after each spin?

Yes. Remove a result manually or enable Remove winner in Settings to automatically remove the selected entry.

Is SpinWheelTool free?

The wheel and its local saving features are free to use. No account is needed to spin.

Does it work on mobile devices?

Yes. You can add entries, spin, change settings, and save locally from a phone, tablet, or desktop browser.

Can I pick several names?

Spin again after each result. Turn on Remove winner to avoid selecting the same entry twice.

Do duplicate names count twice?

Yes. Each entry has one equal chance, including entries with identical text.

Are yes and no equally likely?

Yes, with the two default entries each answer has a one-in-two chance.

Can I add maybe?

Yes. Add a third entry called Maybe; all three entries will then have equal chances.

Are both endpoints included?

Yes. A range from 1 to 10 includes 1 and 10.

What is the largest range?

You can generate up to 500 numbers in one wheel.

Can I change my choices?

Yes. Edit the text directly in the entries panel or paste a new list.

Does it recommend the best choice?

It randomly selects an entry. It does not assess the quality or consequences of your options.
